Post-COVID Ideas For Buena Park Family Fun

When planning a trip to Los Angeles, you have a lot of choices for accommodation. From the peace and quiet of Beverly Hills to the sun-dappled coastlines of Santa Monica, the options are ripe for the picking. Sometimes though, looking a little further outside the main tourist strips of the city can be beneficial, not only in the greater value rooms but in the hidden gems you might miss otherwise.

Buena Park is located 24 km southeast of Downtown Los Angeles and is part of the urban sprawl that stretches out from the beautiful city. Its distance from the city centre doesn’t rob it of its attractions, in fact, there are a great many places in the Anaheim County and Fullerton areas that make for great tourist hotspots in and of themselves.

With its proximity to LA and its own set of popular attractions, Buena Park stays make for a great vacation idea during COVIDand even more so after the restrictions have lifted. With theme parks and even more public attractions set to open at the end of April, this list of events and popular days out might even mean you forget to visit Downtown LA completely!

Knotts Berry Farm

The oldest theme park in the USA and dating back to the 1920s’, Knotts Berry Farm is the crowning jewel of the Buena Park area and gifts visitors with an all-American adventure. Its areas focus on the frontiers of America and celebrate its border with Mexico and the culture of California. Alongside this, Knotts Berry Farm stays true to its name with an annual Taste of Boysenberry festival that includes food stalls and drinks on its premises. You can enjoy the Boysenberry festival without a ticket to the theme park from March through May.

Knotts Soak City

Neighbouring its parent theme park, this waterpark is a must-visit for waterslide and swimming fans. Opened in the year 2000, Knott’s Soak City is open from May to September every year and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors with its 27 waterslides on 13 acres of poolside land. Whether young or old, there’ll be a waterslide for you, all built near the Knott’s Berry Farm Independence Hall replica.

Disneyland Park

Disneyland is just a few kilometres outside of Buena Park and acts as the progenitor of the Disney theme park franchise. Located in the Anaheim area, the park was opened in 1955 and is still growing today with areas such as Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge being the most recent, the area having been opened in 2019. For film and thrill lovers alike, Disneyland’s quintessential attraction is a must for guests of all ages at hotels in Buena Park.

Disneyland California Adventure

The sister park of the original Disneyland, California Adventure Park is a fun and colourful way to celebrate the culture of California through the eyes of its much-loved movie medium. Disneyland California Adventure Park is situated right next to its older sibling and includes California-focused areas such as Hollywood Land, which celebrates the Golden Age of Hollywood and Grizzly Peak, an area that reflects the vast wilderness of California’s Yosemite and Redwood National Park. For those with young families staying at Buena Park hotels in California, this is a great way to introduce the youngsters to the vast wonders of California.
